Conscious Community
A Conscious Community is one that heightens awareness and expression, provides meaning and purpose, responds to human needs, reflects values and culture, and encourages and supports personal growth and healing.
The importance of “Belonging” and Community
From the beginning of time, humans have depended on community for survival. Living in clans enabled us to share food, care for children, and build social networks to meet the daily challenges of their environments. But over the past several decades our feeling of belonging as eroded so that only about 1/4th of Americans feel like they belong at work, their local community or nation. Yet a sense of belonging and safety associated with a Conscious Community is vital to health and well being. Among other things, without it we experience much greater rates of depression, anxiety, heart attack and stroke. Conscious Communities may be the most important factor in healing our planet, eliminating wars, mental illness crisis and so much more.
